About the Studio

The Prodigal Developers

We are a team of developers who wandered — through corporate code, client work, and everything in between — and came home to the thing we love most: making games.

The Prodigal Developers is an independent game development studio built on the belief that great games come from small teams with big conviction. We design and build our titles end-to-end — concept, art, code, and sound — with an obsessive focus on craft and player experience.

Every project we take on is treated like a hand we intend to win. We prototype fast, iterate honestly, and ship only what we're proud to put our mark on. No filler, no shovelware — just games worth your time.

Craft First

Polish is not a phase — it's a habit. We sweat the details from the first commit to the final build.

Player Obsessed

Mechanics serve the player, never the other way around. If it isn't fun, it doesn't ship.

Indie at Heart

Small team, full ownership, zero committees. Creative risks are the whole point.

Community Driven

We build in the open, listen loudly, and grow alongside the players and devs around us.

Upcoming Project

A card battler of crowns & cunning — our debut title.

In Development — Wishlist Now

Royal Flush is a one-on-one card battler where a single standard deck becomes a battlefield of wits. Draw, build, and unleash your hand to break your rival's guard and claim the throne — solo or in online multiplayer.

  • Tactical Card Duels

Manage health, energy, and a living hand of cards. Every draw is a decision and every discard a gambit.

  • Solo & Online Multiplayer

Sharpen your play against an adaptive AI campaign, then test it in real-time online matches.

  • Collectible Decks

Fifty-two hand-crafted cards in crimson and gold — plus unlockable themed decks to make the table yours.

In-Development

Only Hope

A Mars-set action-adventure — traversal is the game.

In Development Epic MegaGrants 2026 (Applicant)

Only Hope is a third-person action-adventure set on a Mars whose orbital shift destroyed Earth and left its own colony to collapse. You play the last pilot with a working suit — and flight, hover and wingsuit glide are how you cross the planet, and how you fight it.

  • Traversal Is the Content

Powered flight, hover, and a wingsuit glide with real lift and drag — built as first-class movement modes on Unreal's Mover 2.0.

  • Creature Boss Combat

The Martian Alpha cannot be fought from the ground. The flight and glide systems are the combat systems.

  • Holographic Discovery

Scan the failed colony's history off the environment. The story is assembled by the player, not delivered in cutscenes.

The last pilot stands alone on the Martian surface beneath a pale planet.

Studio Tools

Forge

The focus timer we built for our own studio — now on Google Play.

Android — Now on Google Play Offline · No Ads · No Account

Most focus timers assume every 25 minutes is the same 25 minutes. Game development doesn't work like that. Forge is a Pomodoro timer rebuilt around how games actually get made — and the first tool we built for ourselves that was good enough to ship.

  • Rituals, Not Presets

Cadences named for the work they suit — Bug Hunt, Deep Code, Asset Grind, Playtest, Milestone. You pick by what you're doing, not by arithmetic.

  • Where the Week Actually Went

Every task and finished block is tagged Code, Art, Design, Audio, Build, Debug or Ship — so the honest answer is one screen away.

  • A Devlog You Didn't Write

One line captured the moment a block ends, while the context is still in your head. Export any day as Markdown, straight into standup.
